As an accredited childminder, I am able to obtain Government funding for 2, 3 and 4 year olds to provide early education in place of a preschool, nursery or playgroup. However, you can split the free entitlement between two providers if you want.

What this means for you

The term after your child turns 3, you will be entitled to “free entitlement” of 30 hours a week (term-time) if you keep your child with me for their early education.

If your child is born between They are eligible for a free place from
1st April and 31st August 1st September following their third birthday or the beginning of the autumn* school term
1st September and 31st December 1st January following their third birthday or the beginning of the spring* school term
1st January and 31st March 1st April following their third birthday or the beginning of the summer* school term

* Based on a three-term school year

All 3 and 4 year olds are entitled to free early years education of 570 hours taken over a minimum of 38 weeks (term time only) or maximum of 47 weeks (over the whole year). I have elected to offer flexible free early years provision which means you, as the parent, choose the sessions.

I am also able to accept funding of up to 15 hours a week for 2 year olds, However there is specific criteria which needs to be met before 2 year funding is agreed.

Free entitlement is for early education only and does not include the extra hours you require for your child.
